Thisis a worthwile course aimed at people who enjoy making new dishes under supervision to learn new skills. It is not difficult and fun! Meet new people and make some great dishes you would not normally cook at home. I enjoyed this course very much. Unfortunatly the tutor was ill and we had another tutor half way through the course and got a refund for one week. Despite this I would still recomend it to others.
I applied for level 2 ICT. Went for the interview, was late due to going to the wrong college. (The course was held at Redditch but the interview was at Bromsgrove) totally my fault but the college understood and interviewed me anyway. The lady who interviewed me was very nice. She told me my grades were good for the course and explained a bit more about the work etc etc. At the end of the interview she said she would put my application aside and speak to her manager as to whether I could do the course or not. I was very confused by this as I had interviews in the past, and they let you know there and then whether they want to offer you a place or not. She told me she would ring me in a few weeks and let me know. I whole month went by and she didn't let me know. It was coming to the start of the year so I began to panic. I contacted her and she said she would speak to her manager and let me know that same day. She did not contact me. I rang several times and was spoke to by someone else. I was told she was busy and they would just leave her a message. Never heard anything. Rang again and was put through to someone else in the ICT department. I told her the situation and she asked me if I had been to the induction. I was upset that there had been an induction and it was now clear to me that I was never going to be able to do the course. The fact she just never let me know whether I got on the course or not is a disgrace. I managed to get on to another course at a different college LAST MINUTE. If I had just waited around for her to 'let me know' I would have missed the opportunity to get on to another course as it would have been to late. I really don't know why she just did not contact me and just avoided me, but it was completely unprofessional. I would never apply for another course at Heart of Worcestershire college and am happily studying at Bournville college.
