klc is more interested in money than people. Had a family member who had to go into hospital for surgery the only thing they were interested in was the upfront payment no empathy to cold to study with. Found the British Academyof interior design absolutely fab.
A fantastic course to get a feel for the school and what is on offer. This course will guide you towards finding the most suitable course.
Completed the Diploma on part time basis over 2,5 years. Do not feel that this course gives you enough to get you industry ready - especially poor in the IT area. Teaching standard and content was very average to poor, teachers contradicted each other, unrealistic work load with little 'learning' content. Generally just not worth the money or the effort.
When I first visited KLC in 2010 it was to check out the Diploma Grad show. The level of skill and professionalism was really evident in their work - it was hard to imagine how I'd be at that level after just one year of study. We've all learnt and developed so much since then! Even after the first few weeks you find yourself doing basic technical drawings and putting together schemes. Then, before you know it you're using CAD software, creating 3D visuals in Sketch-up, digitally rendering in photoshop and presenting to a panel of tutors and industry professionals. It a very hands on course and you learn new skills that you put into practice each day. I love the fact that most of the projects are live briefs, led by top designers in the industry. It's a great way to get to experience different styles, learn what you like, and see what avenues are available once you leave KLC.
I am studying the course from Barcelona and I really enjoyed it so far. The study material is well organised and provide good guidance. The projects we have to send at the end of each module is my favorite part, as I love putting hands into the job. The support from tutors was also really helpful, especially when you live so far from the school.
My home! Then very good.Student life
I don't many other students from the course as I do it abroad, but the school put me in touch with another student who also lives here and we get on quite well.
The amount of information that I have picked up in the short time that I have been here fascinates me. Most of the learning is hands on, so you really get stuck into the work and before you know it, you are the resident expert on door heights, DDA requirements and the local tech support for the studio. The learning process is different than I am used to as you are thrown to the lions to give it a go, then shown the correct way after, but I am finding it useful.
We are very lucky to have all of the items we would need to complete our studies. The studios are both inspiring and inviting. Most days, I don't want to go home.Student life
The people I have met on this course are truly amazing. The tutors are helpful and friendly while still pushing us to our furthest limits. It is at a point now where I am not sure what I am going to do when I get out of the course if I don't have my 'school chums' to work with.
I have had (and am still having) a great time at KLC studying the full time diploma in Interior Design. It has been a very steep learning curve for me, having come with no prior experience in design. My experiences have been both challenging and rewarding trying to get to grips with the wide variety of skill sets that we are being taught. All the tutors have been extremely supportive throughout the course and have made the time to help me when I have needed their guidance. My time so far on the course has been absolutely brilliant and I can't wait to start my final two projects next term!
