Not your average classroom

We're all adults here.

This is not like school. Across 9,700 part-time courses, our tutors and students interact and share experiences, adapting their studies to meet the current needs of the group. Our dedicated tutors will help you gain the confidence to learn new skills, live a healthier life, find motivation or feel closer to your neighbourhood.

Our 3,000 volunteers and over 10,000 members are motivated by the impact of education on individuals, their families and local communities. Student success stories

Lisa was a full-time mum since the age of 16,and had not even considered further education until she met a WEA Development Worker.

"My learning journey has been a fantastic experience; I have become empowered, gained confidence and above all developed a lifelong love of learning. The WEA has helped me tremendously and is a truly valuable organisation. Its ability to reach out to people who may not otherwise have the opportunity or motivation to return to education is unique. It has inspired me to follow my passion, to help others and gain the knowledge and experience to be able to do so."
