A little bit about us

Our skills-based courses provide learning to a wide range of students with a variety of personal or professional reasons for attending. Students benefit from tuition from practitioner academics and state of the art facilities. The Cass has a history of teaching creative skills to makers stretching back to the 1800’s. We uphold this heritage through short courses in traditional disciplines such as Upholstery and Furniture Making alongside a broad portfolio of contemporary, creative subject areas reflecting the school’s expertise. We also offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses as well as bespoke tuition on request.

We consistently update our portfolio to reflect the shifting educational and employment landscape and in response to the feedback we receive. We have recently introduced one/two day workshops and masterclasses to allow beginners to explore a new interest or for those wanting to build on and develop existing skills. We are expanding our portfolio preparation courses beyond the 16-18 year old demographic to reflect the rising numbers of people seeking to enter higher education at different stages in their lives. Here at the Cass, we are fortunate to benefit from the most comprehensive and state of the art facilities for our degree students, which are also available to our short course students. In our well-equipped studios students learn through making, experiment with process and technique and develop skills for personal and professional practice.

Our Central London location is in the heart of an historic and modern creative hub. Located near key transport hub Liverpool Street and 2 minutes walk from Aldgate and Aldgate East stations, The Cass is ideally placed for thriving and artistic areas of Brick Lane and Shoreditch.

How to enrol

The easiest way to book onto one of our courses is via the eShop. The deadline to book a place is usually a week before the start, however if you’ve missed this, don’t worry! Get in touch with us at and we will do our best to accommodate you if we aren’t sold out.
