ABOUT JAMES DREWE

Hehas studied tai chi and qigong since 1975.  He is the author of 3 books on the subject, & is a member of the BCCMA, the TCUGB, and the Longfei Taijiquan Association.

He is a fully qualified teacher (PGCE, Goldsmiths, 1975), and has many years of experience in teaching all ages and levels.  He is also a qualified acupuncturist, and although he no longer practices acupuncture, his knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine is particularly useful when teaching Qigong.

TAI CHI (TAIJI) - Suitable for all ages and levels.

* Beginner to advanced Tai Chi Forms

A TAI CHI CLASS CONSISTS OF:-

1. Warm-ups
2. Some qigong
3. Tai Chi exercises
4. Learning the Tai Chi Form
5. Closing exercises.

QIGONG (CHI KUNG)

The 2 types of qigong taught are 1) static Zhan Zhuang and 2) moving sets of Daoyin exercises.

Qigong exercises are designed to help the organs work more efficiently, to help breathing, posture, back problems, and coordination, and there are sets of Digestive, Cardiovascular, & Respiratory exercises, as well as exercises for the Liver, the Kidneys, and to generally tone up the body.

Qigong is about learning how to relax, and to this end there are stretching exercises contrasted with release.
