Overview

Escape Studios has been at the forefront of creative education since opening their doors in 2002, offering Short Courses in Visual Effects, Animation, Game Art, Motion Graphics and Producing. They have a real-world approach to teaching, working directly with creative professionals and the biggest studios to design and deliver their courses. The courses are taught by their industry experienced tutors in state of art facilities at their London campus. Escape Studios alumni have gone to work at leading studios including ILM, Framestore, Cinesite, DNeg, Rockstar and Ubisoft.

Industry trained tutors

Escape Studios tutors are all experts in their field, bringing their experience from working in successful studios to the classroom. They've worked on everything from EA gaming titles, classic animations such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, to critically acclaimed films including The Jungle Book. The tutors teach real–world tips and tricks learnt from on–the–job experience to turn students passion into skills required by studios.

Alumni

Escape Studios alumni (dubbed Escapees) is a vibrant community of graduates, they are highly respected creative professionals working throughout the VFX, Games and Animation industry. You’ll find Escapees in many of the world’s top VFX studios, behind many Oscar and BAFTA-nominated films, 100s of award-winning films and television shows and 1,000s of award-winning commercials.

Working with industry

Escape Studios offers education powered by industry experience. They work with all kinds of creative companies, from global businesses to smaller independents to input into their courses. This includes developing course content, mentoring programmes and setting students real– life industry briefs.  Their work with industry partners means their courses equip students with relevant skills and qualities needed for a successful, long–term career.

Facilities

Escape Studios facilities mirror their industry powered teaching. The degrees are taught in a studio environment with industry spec hardware and up to date software, such as Maya, Nuke and Unreal Engine. The small class sizes and high contact hours mean you’ll get a hands-on intense learning experience. The facilities even have a breakout space to get creative in with the latest industry magazines and coffee station!

London location

Escape Studios short courses are taught across their MidTown and West campus, in London. Their  location in the city is in the hotspot for creative industries in Europe, close to world-leading VFX studios, animation companies, creative startups and gaming giants – making it the perfect place to kick-start your career. Studying in London means they are surrounded by shops, culture, art, restaurants, cinemas and bars, with plenty to keep you entertained both in and outside of the studio.

Student Experience

The student experience team at Escape Studios offer support inside and outside the classroom. This includes a free online primer course before you start studying and free access to professional software. They run a number of events so students can connect and network with the creative industries, including an ‘Evening with industry artists’ and cinema screenings. Students’ studying full time courses will be enrolled on to their AfterCare Package which helps students with job applications via showreel clinics and CV advice.

Open Events

Escape Studios run regular open events to give students the opportunity to talk directly with course tutors and find out more from current students.

Open Evenings: They run monthly Open Evenings providing information on all short courses, finances and what studying at Escape is really like.

Taster Days: They run Taster Days to give students an opportunity to get hands on with the software and find out what course suits them.
