The Advanced Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools will provide learners with a secure understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in school environments. It is suitable for teaching assistants, teaching support assistants, parent support advisors, learning mentors or those in similar roles. Candidates applying for this course should have either have a Level 2 qualification in Working in Schools, such as the Teaching Assistants Level 2 NVQ or have considerable work experience. The course involves attending college part time for 35 weeks and attending your school placement alongside this. Functional Skills will be required as part of the Apprenticeship Framework in Math’s, English and ICT if an appropriate equivalent is not seen.
