RTA are running this RLSS/IQL National Pool Lifeguard Qualification with PXB (Extraction Board), AED Operator and First aid at work course at Sir John Deane's College, Monarch Drive, Northwich.
To achieve the award you must be 16 years of age or older on the last day of the course and a confident swimmer including diving 2 metres to the pool floor, wearing costume, T shirt and shorts. You should be able to swim 50m on in lkess than 60 seconds and then swim 100m on front or back continously followed by treading water for 30 seconds.
You will learn about pool safety and management, aed use, first aid and pool supervsion and rescue.
This award may enable you to get a job in a pool complex / leisure centre. It is also popular for work abroad such as Camp America and other resorts.
Assessments will be on the last day, the course will run on 27th, 28th & 30th July and 3rd, 4th & 6th August 2017, the course being split over two weeks. You must attend every session 9am to 5.30pm daily.
16 years and ideally at Level 2 in literacy and numeracy. Confident swimmer on front and back and swimming to bottom of pool.
