This course is suitable for those who have completed the Elementary Spanish course or who already have a knowledge of basic Spanish phrases. You should be able to conjugate verbs in the present tense and talk about plans for the immediate future.
This course is intended for anyone interested in building their knowledge further. You will extend your vocabulary and your use of verbs in the present tense. You will also begin to learn how to talk about past experiences. It will allow for more effective communication with Spanish speakers on familiar topics, perhaps when on holiday in Spain or the Latin-American countries.
What will I study?
You will cover a range of useful vocabulary, consolidate the use of verbs in the present tense and be introduced to the past tense. All of which will allow you to improve your ability to hold basic conversations with Spanish speakers on familiar topics. Cultural awareness will also be developed.
There will be some flexibility to tailor the specific topic areas to the needs of the group.
Grammar will be studied to provide for progression in the language but there will be plenty of opportunity for practising speaking skills.
No materials other than a pen and paper are necessary. It is strongly recommended that the vocabulary and phrases studied each week are reviewed between classes in order to get the most out of this course.
What can I do next?
This course will enable students to develop their basic knowledge of the Spanish language, allowing them to use past and future tense as well as the present tense, and to hold basic conversations using the learned language.
Knowledge of some basic Spanish, including the conjugation of verbs in the present tense, is required.
