What will we cover?
You will gain an understanding of how to work with ND filters, polarizer, coloured filters and in-camera filters.

There will be indoor and outdoor (if weather permits) exercises.

Gain confidence in using your camera and accessories and be encouraged to take part in group discussions and feedback/evaluations of the projects throughout the day. Build a portfolio of work.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

The course is suitable for those who have completed a beginner’s course or who have an understanding of how to work in manual. If you have not completed a beginner’s course with Surrey Adult Learning it is advisable to check with the tutor before enrolling. It is essential that you have your own camera and understand how to set exposure manually. This course is for any camera user (D-SLR, Bridge camera and mirror less camera) with a camera that has the ability to change Shutter speed, aperture and ISO manually on the camera and attach a filter on the lens.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You will need your own digital camera with a memory card, at least one lens.
Also bring in your ND-filters, Polarizer filter and coloured filters and a tripod. If you have a remote control bring that too.

Ensure that the batteries are fully charged. Please bring a notebook and pen; your tutor may suggest you keep a sketchbook or portfolio of your images.

What can I do when I finish the course?

Longer and shorter photography courses and courses in digital imaging using Adobe Photoshop Elements are offered by Surrey Adult Learning. You may progress to joining a camera club or wish to study further for a qualification in further or higher education
