Oil Painting Workshop [LDF6733G]: Overview
This one day course will establish a some basic methods in oil painting through the use of photographs, found images or direct observation.
What will we cover?
You will learn about the use of tone, colour, composition and perspective
Gain confidence in using painting mediums, learn techniques such as glazing, impasto, scumbling and be encouraged to take part in group discussions.
Have access to one to one support. The overall aim is to help you develop personal expression through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques.

For beginners and for those with some experience of Oil Painting
As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Bring whatever Oil materials you may already have purchased or a basic set of oil colours, low odour brush cleaner, oil medium ( Sansodar and liquin), a palette, 3 flat hog hair brushes and a rigger. Plenty of tissues rags or newspaper. You will also need a canvas board of similar at least A3 size or larger. Pencil and note pad.

What can I do when I finish the course?
To progress on to the longer Oil Painting course ( beginners and improvers) at Sunbury or other courses in another media, to join other art groups, societies or to develop further within the same class, meet like minded people and make friends
Learners are expected to bring their own materials. Some less common or unusual materials may be brought in by tutor or instruction given on where you can purchase items
