Over 19 years - do you want to become an assessor in a vocational training setting or in the workplace. Then this theory unit could make you attractive to the prospective employer. It's one unit from the suite of assessor units, the others being actual assessing of competence in the workplace and assessessing vocationally related achievement. The Unit doesn't qualify you as a full assessor but it's a compulsory unit to gain the full qualification. The theory unit is completed via distance support and by researching a course reference book which will be supplied to you. (Value £16.50). You will need to research and write up the answers to 25 separate pieces of performance criteria that make up the unit. Achieving this unit would encourage a Registered Centre to put you on their books as a trainee assessor, opening the door to work as a trainee assessor and complete the further units as appropriate. Note this unit can also be credited via RPL toward the Level 3 Award in Education and Training should you achieve it.
You will be registered for this award with either AoFAQ, QNUK or Highfield.
If you apply yourself you should be able to compolete this unit quite quickly.
A unit certificate will be issued by the Awarding Organisation once the unit is completed.
(If you are in the Northwest additional assessor units are also possible eg: Vocational Assessor or Workplace Comptence Assessor, or both).
19 + years. Ideally already holding a Level 2 qualification or above. Prepared to do some research and write up the assignment.
