This course will help you to progress within a variety of sectors and in a number of job roles where an understanding of Dementia and knowledge of how to support people with Dementia is required.
The course will cover awareness of dementia, factors that can influence communication and interaction, person-centred approach, equality, diversity and inclusion in Dementia Care, understand behaviour in the context of dementia, understand the benefits of engaging in activities in social care. This is delivered via distance learning.
Assessments will be marked by an allocated tutor who will provide you with detailed feedback. You will be assessed against criteria where all learning outcomes of the course have to be covered; your tutor will give you guidance for this. Assessments must be completed by the target dates agreed at enrolment.
On completion, you could progress to Level 2 Award and certificates in Mental Health problems; Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Preparing to work in adult social care; Level 2 and 3 certificates for working in the Health sector or Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care. Relevant employment exists within Healthcare; Social Care and Social Work.
