This course will help you to progress within a variety of sectors and in a number of job roles where an understanding of mental health problems and knowledge of how to support people with mental health problems is required.
The course will cover mental health, stress, anxiety, phobias, depression, postnatal depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, eating disorders, attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder. This is delivered via distance learning.
Assessments will be marked by an allocated tutor who will provide you with detailed feedback. You will be assessed against criteria where all learning outcomes of the course have to be covered; your tutor will give you guidance for this. Assessments must be completed by the target dates agreed at enrolment.
On completion, you could progress to Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care; Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Preparing to work in Adult Social Care or Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships. Relevant employment exists within Healthcare; Social Care; Public services; Customer service; Sport and recreation; Hospitality; Travel and Tourism; Education; Housing and Voluntary.
