On this course, you will specialise in the ever-expanding areas of gaming platforms and technologies. You will develop your software skills and learn how to create market-ready interactive media.
Key subject areas include: Business applications of social media; Website development; Digital graphics and animation; Software design and development project; Object-oriented programming; Computer game development and Human computer interaction. Alongside your course you’ll study English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop your skills and confidence.
Successful students can progress into work in application development or as a games and web developer. Further study options include a Foundation degree in a related field with a specialism – either here at West Herts College or at university. Over 80% of our students progress to university to study a BA/BSc (Hons) degree.
You should have 4 GCSEs (A*-C/4-9) including English and maths, or a Level 2 diploma in IT. You will also be invited to a Course Introduction Meeting.
