The course comprises eleven mandatory units:
Each student is asked to complete a number of tasks based on their work in schools. These tasks will then build into a portfolio of evidence submitted at the end of the course. There are no formal examinations.
All units are internally assessed. Assessment enables the learner’s workplace practice to provide evidence for individual units as well as the whole qualification. This course requires an assessment of your practical skills within your working environment. It is essential that you secure a placement that can provide you with a suitably qualified teacher and workplace assessor who can observe you, comment on your skills and write a report to meet the assessment requirements.

Once enrolled, you will have *one year to complete this course, which will allow you to work at your own pace, without the pressure of tight deadlines. During this course, you will need to complete a recommended 100 placement hours. You will also receive 12 months of tutor support for the course so you can feel confident that you’ll get the help you need. Studying around your work and family commitments has never been easier.
*If attending classroom-based classes the course will take 6-9 months.
You will study this course by distance learning or you can attend classroom-based classes, which will enable you to learn when and where you want. You can study from home or at work; it is completely up to you. All your materials will be posted to you or sent online. You will also receive our tutor support by email, so help is only a click away!
At the end of this course, successful learners will receive a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning. This means that you will achieve a Level 3 Certificate qualification on National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
You must be to obtain a school placement, good understanding of ICT, Level 2 English and Maths.
