Jewellery & Silverwork - Make a Silver Pendant [RDF6095G]: Overview
This one day workshop will take you through the processes needed to make a silver pendant which can be attached to a ribbon or leather thong, which will be provided.
What will we cover?
We will make a trial in copper first and the methods will include using a rolling mill to create texture, piercing, polishing and adding ‘findings’ or fastenings to complete the piece.
You are welcome to bring a silver chain for your pendant however the tutor may have some to sell on the day if you wish.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
Complete beginners or those with some jewellery experience.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
There will be basic materials (including silver) supplied, however if you wish to bring some beads or chain they could be incorporated. Other finishing items may be available from the tutor at additional cost.

Please bring a notebook and pen, an apron and, if you have long hair, something to tie it up with. Please also wear sensible closed toe shoes.
What can I do when I finish the course?
Other Jewellery workshops are available where you can make different items. This would also be a good introduction to a longer jewellery course at Surrey Adult Learning.
