Jewellery & Silversmithing - Improvers [HDF1224G]: Overview
Now that you have acquired the basics of jewellery making and silversmithing you will have the opportunity to try different techniques, improve existing skills and acquire new ones. Make jewellery for family and friends!
What will we cover?
Design, plan and work through all the necessary steps to make your own unique piece/s of jewellery or silverware. You will be encouraged to work on your design skills, learn to estimate the materials needed, plan the processes and develop those all important problem solving skills in an inspiring class.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
It is essential that you have attended a beginner’s course previously, and are keen to design your own projects as much as possible. If you are unsure about your level of ability you can contact the tutor by emailing

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Tools and equipment are provided. You will need to supply your own silver. Copper and brass available to use in class.
It is essential that you wear closed toe shoes (not sandals or flip flops) and bring an apron or wear old clothes. Long hair should be tied up for certain tasks.
Please note there is stairway access to the jewellery studio, also to the toilets
What can I do when I finish the course?
Further jewellery making courses e.g. for specialist techniques. Your tutor can advise you about taking your skills further, either as a student or moving towards exhibiting your work.
