Course description

Java Intermediate Data Structures and JDBC:

Course Outline:

This one-day Java course is for delegates with basic Java knowledge and concentrates on accessing and manipulating data within a Java program.

Arrays:

An array is a container object that holds a fixed number of values of a single type.

Generics, Wrapper classes:

Generics enable types (classes and interfaces) to be parameters when defining classes, interfaces and methods.

Wrapper class in Java provides the mechanism to convert primitive into object and object into primitive.

Collections: Lists, Sets, Queues, Maps, Trees

List is essentially a more flexible version of an array. Elements have a specific order, and duplicate elements are allowed. Elements can be placed in a specific position. A set can't hold duplicate elements. Additionally, the set has no set order. Queues store elements in the order in which they are inserted. A stack returns the object according to last-in-first-out (LIFO). Maps stores data with associate key.

Streams:

Working with Input and Output streams of elements or data, as well as Classes to support functional-style operations on streams of elements, such as map-reduce transformations on collections.

SQL, database principles and JDBC

JDBC™ API is an API designed to keep everyday database tasks simple. JDBC executes common SQL statements and perform other objectives common to database applications.

Excellent course. My teacher Sarah was really good and took me through how to create pivot tables step by step. She made it simple and straightforward. I can now create a pivot table with confidence. You also get a certificate of attendance. I would highly recommend this course to a friend. Sharmini Shanthakumar
