Course Title: Introduction to Make-Up Application
Who is the course for?
Do you want to learn the skills and knowledge to provide basic make-up treatments for friends and family and maybe use these skills to train to work with clients? Then the Introduction to Make-Up Application course is for you. This course is also for those who wish to train in salon reception duties.
Do you gain any qualifications?
No - this course is non-accredited.
Do you need to be interviewed or assessed before enrolling on the course?
No - This course is suitable for all abilities, but you will need a suitable level of English to be able to understand instructions and take simple notes.
What will you learn?
Basic make- up application
You will be able to prepare for and carry out basic make-up application using foundation, concealers, powder, eye, cheek and lip products. You will be able to prepare for make-up application, carry out skin analysis and use consultation techniques. The treatment will also involve checking that the final result is to the satisfaction of the client.
Essential equipment and resources
Pens, paper, and sketch pad/paper to make notes and work on designs
Own treatment products
A bag or case to carry equipment
A white uniform or suitable clothing for practice treatments
Optional equipment and resources
You will need to provide your own treatment products. Your tutor will explain at the first session what resources you will need and where to purchase them.
There is a range of Beauty qualifications at Level 1, 2 and Level 3. You could progress to a Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Therapy.
