Course Title: Introduction to Working in Health Social Care & Children Settings Award
Who is the course for?
If you are interested in gaining skills and knowledge to work in Health, Social Care and Children?s Settings, this course is for you. The course will cover key topics relevant across settings.
Do you gain any qualifications?
Yes. You will gain a City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Introduction to Working in Health Social Care Children and Young People?s Settings.
Do you need to be interviewed or assessed before enrolling on the course?
Yes ? you will need English at Entry 3 and above. You will need to attend an information session and complete an English assessment.
What will you learn?
The course will develop your knowledge and awareness across health, social care and children and young people?s settings. It will enable you to develop an understanding of the similarities and differences between the settings and offers progression onto further learning including level 2 courses. Some additional work outside of the classroom will assist in you in progressing and getting the best out of the course.
You will complete 3 units and build a portfolio of evidence.

Understand the range of provision and roles in the sector
Understand the Principles and Values
Awareness of Health and Safety
Essential equipment and resources
You will need pens, paper and a folder for your work
Your lecturer will advise you on what text book to purchase
