International Finance
Our International Finance evening course provides a practical and comprehensive introduction to effective financing and risk management activities of large multinational companies.
Taught at City, University of London’s central London campus, our 10-week International Finance training course offers an ideal introduction to the fast-moving and important world of international finance.
Our International Finance course explores effective financial management of large multinational companies and their associate risks.
You’ll examine a wide variety of business sectors, including pharmaceutical, fin-tech and manufacturing. A diverse range of instruments and markets will be considered, including debt, equity, derivatives instruments and banking, money and capital markets.
Interest and currency risk management instruments and techniques will complement discussions on markets to raise various types of debt finance.

Eligibility:
No prior knowledge of business finance or banking is required to enrol on this course, however, we do ask that you have a genuine interest in business, banking, finance and economics.
English requirements:
You will need a good level of spoken and written English to enrol on this course.
Training Course Content
Over 10-weekly lessons the International Finance evening course will provide a solid grounding in the banking and finance sector in relations to the global economy, including:
- Treasury department
- Bank: relationship management, bank loans and clauses found in a typical loan agreement
- Financing overseas trade
- Capital markets for finance
- Interest rate risk management
- Currency risk management how it can be managed, including the use of derivatives
- Interest rate risk
- Liquidity risk
- Cash forecasting
- Time value of money and discounted cash flow.
Opportunities will occur to relate study to real news and events of multinational companies, such as financing, market developments and financial distress.
Discussions might include the causes and characteristics of the global financial crisis from a multinational company's perspective.
