Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading:

The many transferable skills that you develop during this course provide a superb foundation for most career pathways. Opportunities in the work place could support progression to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Management, other Level 3 Advanced apprenticeships such as Business Administration further education to undertake management, business related or other qualifications. With additional training, apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles such as first line managers, section managers, assistant managers, trainee managers, senior supervisors and junior non-commissioned officers (armed forces).

The Diploma in Team Leading is a combined qualification that develops practical skills as well as providing theory to improve knowledge and understanding in the context of leading a team. You will complete the following units: Principles of Team Leading; Understand Business; Lead and Manage a Team; Communicate Work-related Information; Manage Personal Performance and Development; Employee Rights and Responsibilities; Understand Customers; Principles of Equality and Diversity in the Workplace; Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues; Manage Individual's Performance and Manage Conflict within a Team. In addition you will develop valuable skills in English, Maths and ICT along with polishing your Personal Learning and Thinking skills.

Qualifications you will get will include: Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading; Level 1 Functional Skills English progressing to level 2; Level 1 Functional Skills Maths progressing to level 2 and Level 1 Functional Skills ICT progressing to level 2. Every apprentice has an exit review upon completion of their course and next steps are discussed and appropriate advice and guidance will be given.

Additional entry requirements

You must be in a job role which has responsibility for leading and managing a team. All applicants are required to complete initial assessments in literacy and numeracy which ensures fair access to assessment. A minimum of Entry level 3 in English and Maths is normally required. Learners who do not meet this requirement will receive advice and guidance on developing these skills prior to reapplying. You cannot apply for an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading if you already hold a qualification at level 4 (or above) or, if you have previously completed a level 2 NVQ or Certificate in Team Leading.
