German - Stage 1 - Continued - Term 3 [HEF1764G]: Overview
Build on your basic knowledge, adding more language for dealing with everyday topics.
What will we cover?
Typical topics covered at Stage 1 Continued may include:
• asking and answering basic questions;
• using numbers and telling the time;
• shopping for food and clothes.
Sessions are lively and varied with goals tailored to individual needs. The emphasis is on speaking and listening, with pair and group activities to maximise opportunities to speak in the language.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
New learners are welcome to join Terms 2 & 3 but will need some previous knowledge of the language.
Different topics and structures are covered each term, so complete beginners should start with a Taster, For your Holidays or Term 1 course.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Please bring a notepad and pen. A ring-binder for storing handouts is recommended.
Course books, if required, typically cost £15 - £30 and can be used for more than one term / year. This will be discussed at the first session. You may also wish to purchase additional study aids such as CDs, workbooks, dictionaries and grammar books, which are optional.
What can I do when I finish the course?
Learners can progress to Stage 2 at some Adult Learning Centres.
We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
