Course description

Gardening - How to Grow Fruit and Vegetables: This gardening course is aimed at students who have desire to turn part of the garden over to plants that can be eaten throughout the year. You will look at what can be grown in the spaces you have and whether borders and baskets can ne used to grow edible produce., By the end of the course you should be able to:, Use books and resources to identify the plants that can be grown and eaten in your garden, Define the style and functional requirements for your garden and incorporate fruit and vegetables into its spaces , Decide which edible plants are suitable and sustainable for your garden , Learn about soils, pests and watering for fruits and vegetables to get the best from your crops , Please note that this course is run at St Johns Nursery in Etchingham. Anyone interested in growing a small quantity of vegetables without digging an entire plot. Ideal for those who garden on a patio or balcony.
