This course is designed for future software developers and computer scientists who wish to learn about the development of computer games from a technical (rather than artistic) perspective. If you love playing computer games and have always wondered how games were designed and developed, this is the course for you.
Students will learn and develop a number of skills that will help you to code and create games for a variety of platforms. From programming, scripting, games engine design, you will also explore games mechanics, level design and environment design. You will complete a series of individual and team-led projects/ assignments and activities, as well develop a strong portfolio for HE study, employment or Apprenticeship study.
This course will help you learn the skills you need to achieve a career in the games industry, as a games technologist, games programmer, games designer/developer, engine developer, indie games developer and more.
Students need to have minimum of 5 GCSEs with the following grades: English 4 and maths at 3 or above, and 3 other GCSEs grade 4 or above.

More info: This course is free for students aged 16-18. Those ages 19-23 are eligible to pay a reduced fee. Students who are age 24+ or over will pay the full fee and may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learning Loan.
