The Ascentis Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering is designed to give the learner knowledge and understanding of the principles of keeping food safe. The qualification introduces the learner to key issues in Food Safety, taking responsibility for their own food safety and hygiene, keeping work areas clean and keeping food safe.
The aim of the qualification is to enable learners:

To understand the importance of keeping work areas clean and hygienic
The course has online materials that can be accessed either at college or from home. You will then take a short assessment at college, comprising of 20 multiple-choice questions.
Flexible Learning was introduced as an alternative to scheduled classes. Students are expected to study for at least 2 hours per week, you are able to practise as and when you wish by booking study sessions any time within the hours below. Alternatively, you can practise at home and work, just coming in to college to take a test.
No previous knowledge or experience of computers or the Internet is required. However, it would be advantageous if you possessed basic IT skills. The course has online materials that can be accessed either at college or from home. You will then take a short assessment at college, comprising of 20 multiple-choice questions.
