Course description

First Aid at Work course in Warrington (AoFAQ Level 3 RQF Award):

This is the main award for being a workplace first aider, it is recognised by the HSE and being a regulated award (RQF) shows due diligence by the employer in course choice and meeting first aid risk assessment needs. Delivered through AoFAQ or QNUK both Awarding Organisations.

The course covers a wide range of conditions and treatments, for example CPR / AED / Unconcious / medical conditions like asthma, seizures, diabetes and gettng help etc.

The course is assessed by you being observed and completing two multiple choice answer question papers.

A candidates receive a full colour first aid book, student pack and the award is valid for 3 years. (You receive an A4 certificate and a plastic card certificate, the card being useful to take on sites etc).

Will also provide on-site courses for local businesses, this can present savings for your company.

Syllabus:

Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
Be able to assess an incident.
Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.
Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding.
Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock.
Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.
Be able to conduct a secondary survey.
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints.
Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries.
Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries.
Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with burns and scalds.
Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with an eye injury.
Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning.
Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis.
Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected major illness.

Additional entry requirements

16 years. Capable of floor based work. No heavy make up. Skirts are best avoided.
