End of Life Care (Principles in Palliative Care GPT203 (Nationally Accredited) - for Carers, Care Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants:

Elearning (online) with an 4-week period to complete. You can stop and start the course whenever and whereever you wish. We can extend the finish date on request if you would like longer to complete the course.

The course provides you with a valuable qualifcation into this specific field of healthcare support and covers the key aspects of working in his role in a variety of healthcare settings.

The course provides a thorough understanding of End of Life Care in a palliative care environment, developed to provide a very detailed working knowledge of this important area of healthcare practice. The course includes Equality, Diversity and Rights, the Person-centred care approach, Planning Ahead and End of Life Strategies and Guidelines. Also covered within the course is communication and its associated specific problems in this area as well as Nutrition, Hydration and Mouth Care. We look also at Symptom Control. The penultimate modules covers Identifying the Dying Phase of Life and also the Bereavement Process. Lastly we look at working within a Mulitdisciplinary Team.

This course specially benefits those who are keen to work in a carer capacity but within this specific sector.

The course has between 3 and 6 Multiple Choice Questions at the end of each module. You can immediately re-sit the questions for each module if required.

The course is supported with an extensive range of resource material which is free to download at any time during the course. A Home Study Pack is an integral part of the course structure. On completion the delegate will immediately be able to download a pass certificate. (Accredited certificate will be posted within 8 weeks).

The nationally recognised and accredited certificate (awarded by the Open College Network (OCN Credit4Learning)) can be added to any other existing credit values (cumulative credits), and these may also count towards other similar college or university courses.
