A Door Supervisor licence is required if manned guarding activities are undertaken in relation to licensed premises*, except where the activity only involves the use of CCTV equipment or falls within the definition of cash and valuables in transit or close protection. A Door Supervisor licence is required if you are performing this activity on behalf of yourself or your employer or your services are supplied for the purposes of or in connection with any contract to a consumer.
*'in relation to licensed premises' means when those premises are open to the public, at times when alcohol is being supplied for consumption, or regulated entertainment is being provided, on the premises.
This qualification is a Level 2 Door Supervision
This Level 2 Door supervision course will enable you to attain the professional knowledge and skills which are required for becoming a qualified SIA Approved Door Supervisor. Before you are able to qualify for your SIA Door Supervisor License and start working in the private security industry, it is a legal requirement for you to hold an SIA License.
The Door Supervisor Training is aimed at those who are aspiring to undertake manned guarding activity as a Door Supervisor at events. Venues where you could work as a Security Guard include: Retail, Supermarkets, Office environments, Hotels, Restaurants, Construction, Airports, Stadiums, Bars, Nightclubs, Outdoor Events and many more.
Applicants must be;
At least 18 years of age
A resident in the UK
Able to communicate effectively in English as It is essential for security officers
It is a legal requirement for anyone who wishes to work as a door supervisor in the private security industry, to hold an SIA License.
This is a full time short course which takes place within a 5 day training period, covering 4 units:
Unit 1: Working within the Private Security Industry
Unit 2: Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
Unit 3: Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
Unit 4: Physical Intervention Skills
There are multiple choice exams and a practical test which you are required to complete on the last day of this course. Your results will be issued within 10 working days. The SIA License to work can then be applied for once you are a successful candidate.
This course only takes 5 days to complete as it is a full time short course.
You will receive a Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry Level 2 Certification.
The awarding body is Pearson Education Ltd.
Progression/suggested progression (What related qualifications can you progress onto?)
You will be able to progress onto a Level 2 certificate in providing security operations.
After completing the course you will receive certification;
SIA Licence badge can be applied for and you will then be able to undertake manned guarding activity at events.
