Digital Photography for Improvers [EDG2837G]: Overview
This course will enable you explore the various photographic genres: Landscape, Portraiture, Action, Architecture, Twilight photography & Street photography. This course is for any camera user (D-SLR, Bridge camera and CMS camera).
What will we cover?
You will further hone your photographic skills, explore the abilities of your camera while exploring the various photographic genres: : Landscape, Portraiture, Action, Architecture, Twilight photography & Street photography
There will be practical exercises indoor and outdoor and homework will be given.
Gain confidence in using your camera, minimize time in front of the computer and be encouraged to take part in group discussions and feedback/evaluations of the projects throughout the course.
Exploring and discovering other photographers’ work/styles. Build a portfolio of work.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
The course is suitable for those who have completed a beginner’s course or who have an understanding of how to work in manual. If you have not completed a beginner’s course with Surrey Adult Learning it is advisable to check with the tutor before enrolling. It is essential that you have your own camera and understand how to set exposure manually.
This course is for any camera user (D-SLR, Bridge camera and CMS camera) with a camera that has the ability to change Shutter speed, aperture and ISO manually on the camera.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need your own digital camera with a memory card, at least one lens and the instruction booklet. A tripod will be needed during this course. Ensure that the batteries are fully charged.
Please bring a memory stick, a notebook and pen; your tutor may suggest you keep a sketchbook or portfolio of your images. You will need to be capable of printing your images either at home or using a printing service.
What can I do when I finish the course?
Creative photography- courses and courses in digital imaging using Adobe Photoshop Elements are offered by Surrey Adult Learning. You may progress to joining a camera club or wish to study further for a qualification. Join societies or to develop further within the same class, meet like minded people and make friends.
