Computing - Apple - Mac - Excel - Stage 1 [HDF2002G]: Overview
This course gives you a basic grounding into the world of spreadsheets on an Apple Mac computer. You will be using the popular Excel software, part of the Microsoft Office suite. Excel is a powerful spreadsheet tool which can help you produce personal budgets, record work expenses, present data with colourful charts and graphs and much more.
If you use/have used a different spreadsheet programme, the skills learned here are easily transferrable.
What will we cover?
• Introduction to Excel’s ribbon and menus
• Navigating a spreadsheet layout
• Creating, Editing, Saving and Printing a Workbook
• Using simple formatting
• Creating simple Formulas and using basic Functions
• Creating a simple chart or graph
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This is a gentle introductory course for people new to spreadsheets but not new to Apple computers. You must be able to use an Apple computer to save and find files and already possess mouse and keyboard skills. If you are completely new to Apple computers, you should look at our “Apple – Mac – An Introduction or Stage 1” courses first.
As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Please bring a pen and notebook. Handouts and exercises will be provided.
