Course description

BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Business Administration:


Launch your career in administration within a number of business sectors, including retail, insurance, travel and banking. Throughout this course, you will learn to research, work independently and will participate in practical workshops.

What will I study?

Specific areas of study include:

Creating business documents - develop the skills to identify and produce a variety of business documents

Supporting business meetings - understand the tasks involved in preparing documentation and learn the requirements for supporting meetings successfully

Communicating electronically - develop your skills in communicating electronically using different methods such as telephone, emails, faxes and text messaging

Managing your health at work - understand how to manage personal health in the workplace and the support provided by employers in maintaining health

Job opportunities in business administration - explore conditions of employment, and the qualifications and skills required for different jobs

Welcoming visitors - develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of administrative tasks associated with welcoming visitors

Employability skills - self-management, team working, business and customer awareness, problem solving, communication, number and ICT skills

Alongside your course you’ll study English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop your skills and confidence.

What can I do next?

Progress to a Level 2 Diploma in subjects including Business, Computing or Travel and Tourism. With further training and study you’ll be well placed for business admin roles in many organisations.

This course has been very insightful and an overall fun experience. Our Tutor Zahra is really good and has helped to developed our understanding of BSL over the duration of the course. I would definitely recommend that anyone interested in learning BSL apply for this course!
