Course description

BRIDGE TO FE: This is a full time course which helps “bridge the gap” between school and college. The course is suitable for young people who want to: • Enhance and develop their employability skills • Build their confidence • Improve their functional and personal skills • Work within a small, supportive environment You will study the following: • Functional Skills in Maths and English • Skills for Learning and Work • Employability Skills • Vocational Sampling All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional Skills English and maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. If you have a grade D/3 at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D/3 will work towards GCSE through the study of maths and English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment. All LMC students will receive tutorial support.

Additional entry requirements

You do not need any qualifications to join. You will need a willingness to learn, a commitment to your studies, a satisfactory record of attendance and want to develop your independence and progress onto further higher level courses or employment.
