Course description

Adobe XD App Design:

What you will learn

XD (Experience Design) is the go-to tool for UI (User Interaction) and UX (User Experience) designers. Using wire framing techniques this programme allows you to prototype mobile app designs. It allows you to create the look and feel of an app including individual pages, the links between them, effects and interactions, order and hierarchy. This software allows you to design and create the experience portion of the app development cycle. Whenyou have finished the assets exported from XD are in the precise format that a developer/coder requires to create the finished product. User-friendly and fun, this course is suitable for all and does not require any previous design experience. XD is particularly popular with UX and UI professionals, as well as those in marketing and communications who want to have a hands on role in mobile app development. This course is designed to give you a solid introduction to Adobe XD and UX theory and the confidence to create prototyping wire frames. As a student of Morley College you are also entitled to a discount on Adobe CC Software. Your tutor can advise you on how to apply for this.

By the end of the course you will be able to

  • Learn basic UX design concepts and integrate them into your design ideas
  • Plan, sketch and translate your designs from paper to screen
  • Learn basic related XD software skills and techniques
  • Generate appropriate text and image content to support your overall designs
  • Produce a series of inter-connected screens for a mobile application
  • Integrate interactive elements within your prototype

Additional entry requirements

A keen interest in the subject is key to your success and the ability to attend the sessions regularly to get the most out of the course. As part of the course you will be asked to read tutorials, take notes, listen to instructions and discuss related topics, therefore students should have a reasonable level of skill in speaking, reading and writing in English. This course can be taken alongside with any of our digital design, film and photography courses and will help you to gain the confidence you need when working with digital tools for design and publication.

The coding for beginners was an excellent course. It made me understand the concepts about coding and how it works. I have enjoyed so much Dalia's lessons (tutor).I've liked the resources that she uses and the structure of the course. Also, she has a fantastic approach respecting the different needs of each student. Furthermore, Dalia made me feel confident that coding is something that I can learn! It has empowered me to go further and even considering about become a web developer.
