This course is designed for beginners, this intensive course will teach how to use Photoshop to improve images and create digital artwork. Discover how to retouch photographic images, use filters and adjustment layers, and learns the key techniques for the creation of stunning digital artwork. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
By the end of the course you will be able to: recognise the basic features and uses of the program; use the appropriate tools to retouch and colour correct photographic images; use filters and adjustments to enhance photographic images; manipulate layers effectively to create simple compositions; modify, save and output images efficiently.
A keen interest in the subject is important to your success and the ability to attend the sessions regularly to get the most out of the course. As part of the course you will be asked to read tutorials, take notes, listen to instructions and discuss related topics, therefore students should have a reasonable level of skill in speaking, reading and writing in English. This course can be taken alongside with any of our digital design, film and photography courses and will help you to gain the confidence you need when working with digital tools for design and publication.

I heard about Morley College from another student back in autumn 2015 and decided to check it out. I was completely in awe about all the courses on offer and have been a regular student since January 2016. I started with Beginners Pattern Cutting, increased to Intermediate Sewing and am currently enrolled in 5 courses including Professional Sewing Techniques, Couture Garment Construction, How To Make Your Own Block and Occasion Wear. The tutors are phenomenal and have such a broad knowledge. Teaching is both in groups but also individually depending on the project. I absolutely love coming to my classes and could be at Morley College every day!
I've just finished the Thursday evening wood-carving classes at Morley College, and I've enjoyed it so much. It was my first wood-carving course, and I'm only doing it for fun, and I've already learned so much. The teacher, Tim Norris, is so friendly, helpful, and great at explaining the technique that I've already signed up for next term's course!
