AAT L1 Access Award in Bookkeeping: Anyone who has minimum work experience and those who need further support to progress in their career or further studies. It is Ideal as a starting block for younger learners, those looking to change career paths or those trying to achieve employment. Also ideal for small business proprietor wanting to gain some accounting knowledge. A good standard of English, maths and the ability to communicate information clearly. Students will develop knowledge, understanding and basic structure of a manual bookkeeping system. Students will learn by demonstration, books, supporting materials from AAT that include real life scenarios and practiced development. Via question and answer, by completion of each unit within the text and supporting materials, computer based mock assessment and one final computer based test at the end of the unit. AAT Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping Students will gain a firm knowledge and understanding to progress on to the next level of learning with AAT level 1 Access award in accounting software or business skills, then further progression onto foundation level 2, apprenticeship levels 3 and 4. Also supporting junior finance roles such as trainee bookkeeper, accounts administration and accounts/receivable clerk, assistant cashier. Calculator, note pad, pen, pencils. Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners.
