Shipley College is a small, friendly college with a reputation for providing outstanding support for students. Situated in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saltaire, it is a great place to study and easy to get to by bus or train from Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley, Keighley, Bingley and Skipton. We have a great range of full-time courses, apprenticeships and part-time courses and careers advisors on hand to help you move your life, skills, career or even your business forward. Rifat, who completed her Level 3 in Business is currently in her 2nd Year at Bradford University studying Law. She hopes to go on and specialise in Family Law.
Holly started at Shipley College on a Level 1 Childcare course and went all the way, completing a Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning & Development. While at Shipley she became a student ambassador and co-ordinated the Childcare students activities at Saltaire ArtsTrail where young visitors created Artwork from recycled materials. Holly is now studying teacher training at Leeds Trinity University and is predicted a 2:1 in her degree.
Oliver is a successful graduate of the Centre of Excellence for Business pilot, completing an IT Networking course alongside a work placement at Provident Financial. He has since been rewarded with a full-time position at Provident Financial working as an Analyst and more recently received the Centre of Excellence for Business Work Experience Student of the Year Award. “I found the whole experience to be rewarding. I would definitely recommend the initiative to others.”
James Hanson, now playing for Bradford City, enrolled on a Level 3 Sports Course. He thanked Shipley College for the part we played in his progression towards becoming a professional footballer. “I’m really grateful for my time at Shipley College. They supported me while I pursued my dream of playing football for a living.”
Studying Horticulture at Shipley College has helped Katie build a great career centred around her passion for gardening. She not only runs her own garden design business “Queen of Spades” but she has also landed a key role as a presenter on ITV’s gardening programme “Love your Garden.”
Katie’s route started as a part-time student here followed by a foundation degree, and if such
