With a wide range of subjects on offer and a number of course venues across the city, you are never too far away from finding a place to learn. As well as running courses in local community centres, churches and schools, Newcastle City Learning has over 2,000 enrolments a year to its main venue – Westgate College. We particularly like the sound of the recently renovated ICT suite and the wide mix of students it helps every year.

Learning can also improve health and wellbeing, increase confidence and help you achieve your potential.

What’s on offer
Here at Newcastle City Learning we offer an extensive range of day time and evening courses in a vast range of subjects. We also offer apprenticeships and diplomas that will enable you to go on to University through our Access to Higher Education Programme.
Our tutors are highly qualified and experienced and we offer courses from beginners to advanced levels. We aim to offer progression wherever possible and encourage feedback from our learners to help us continually develop our programmes.
Enrolling is easy, through our website. We have lots of concessions, and can sometimes offer financial support and help with childcare, too.
When you sign up for a class, we will ask you to tell us about the support you may need to help you with your course. You will be asked if you consider yourself to have a disability, learning difficulty or health problems, so we can make any necessary arrangements. We also ask everyone if they would find learning easier with help with English and maths.
We also have limited funds available to help people on low incomes to study.
Our learners can now access a free 24 hour confidential telephone counselling hotline. Please ask any member of staff for details.
