Overview

Established in 2003, London School of Science & Technology (LSST) has grown to become one of London's leading independent, private higher education institutions, which with 1600 students, makes LSST an exciting, diverse and a multi-cultural place to learn. In support of that diversity and to truly widen participation, many of the students that choose to learn with us have said that they would not have had the confidence to apply to a conventional University within the UK. Simply put, our ethos at LSST is to provide education to all students, regardless of their background and upbringing. We know that with determination, effort and commitment that our students can get the best out of studying with us.

We achieve this by offering: Courses and Modules that emphasize the use and development of analytical and practical skills that are essential in today's fast-moving and demanding workplaces. Campuses

Located in London, Luton and Birmingham, LSST is dedicated to providing career professional training programmes, postgraduate courses and undergraduate degrees, from vocational qualifications in Marketing to fully fledged degrees in Business and Computing. Our postgraduate programmes are designed to be flexible and help students obtain a respected qualification in a relaxed and supportive environment.

LSST is proud of the supportive environment we have created and how we are responsive to students needs since 2003.  Currently all our postgraduate programs are taught at London Study Centre (Wembley, London). 

London Study Centre  (Alperton House) -  is located within a thriving area of West London, just a stone's throw away from the buzzing city lights.

Luton Study Centre - located at the heart of Luton Town Centre and is 0.5 mile from The Mall Luton & the Luton train station also 0.9 mile from the University of Bedfordshire.

Birmingham Study Centre  - located in Digbeth, which is one of the most distinctive parts of the city and is less than ten minutes walk from the Bull Ring and Birmingham train station and 5 minutes walk from the Birmingham coach station.

Student life

Academic Support Centre (ASC)

Our Academic Support Centre (ASC) primarily focuses upon enhancing teaching practices and the quality of the student learning experience through strong coordination processes assuring the quality of educational provision for supporting activities. The centre adopts both personal and practical approach to academic study and opportunities for students to develop their learning strategies. The ASC will be engaged with additional and complementary delivery of diverse study skills and specific one-to-one support services - all in sync with the requirements of the wider faculty and college.

Student Union  

The aim of the Student union is to work entirely for the benefit of students. The Union is managed by Student Reps who will be elected each year by the whole student population, who work and volunteer for the Union for a year. The Union represents student views, concerns and ensures that students have access to quality services.

Student Welfare Support 

At LSST our Student Support Team is available to help any student with any issue that could have an impact on their learning. Student Support offers a confidential, impartial service and do their best to help students with any issues related to their learning or personal life. LSST offers a range of support to help you on your course such as:

  • Dyslexia and Literacy Support

Careers Advice

At LSST career and advice centre adviser can help students to plan their future. They can offer them a variety of services - which one can choose depending on what their interests are.

Library and Learning resources

LSST Library offers a large collection of books and welcoming environment to work in. The library staff offer help and advice on computer skills and Harvard referencing. Learning resources, course materials and assignments as well as staff and students unlimited 24/7 access to course materials are available via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

LSST Infrastructure

We provide variety of opportunities to get to know how to use the latest technology. As a student of LSST you will have access to computer labs with all relevant and latest computer technology, software store and access to Network Drive. Computers are available in labs, libraries, central study spaces and communal areas and provide access to the internet, a range of software packages and file stores.

Facilities

Student Union

The aim of the Student union is to work entirely for the benefit of students. The Union is managed by Student Reps who will be elected each year by the whole student population, who work and volunteer for the Union for a year. The Union will represent student views, concerns and will ensure that students have access to quality services. It will listen to the students for bringing in positive change and will work with relevant staff members to make it happen. There will be an appointed student union coordinator who will be working closely with student Reps, faculty and other departments of the School to set the direction of the Union and its activities. This will involve organising student elections, deploying student surveys and taking deliberate steps to hear student voice at strategic and operational level.

Library

The LSST library is made up of 3 libraries. Each campus has its own library and learning resource centre. As a student at LSST, you will be able to take full advantage of the Library and Learning Resource Centre. You will be able to read and borrow books, read magazines, newspapers and online journals as well as having access to print and photocopying facilities. The Library offers a welcoming environment to work in and the library staff offer help and advice on computer skills and Harvard referencing. 

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) 

VLE enables staff and students unlimited 24/7 access to course materials, assignments as well as offering an online area for communication and sharing resources like course notes and reading lists. VLE can be accessed from any computer or device with an internet connection and is therefore an invaluable resource. LSST Connect enables tutors to communicate with students via multiple methods, including the discussion board, real-time chat and email functions. Tutors can also upload teaching and learning materials, interactive tests, audio and video content. Each course has its own space with access restricted to enrolled students. 

Blackboard 

UWL Blackboard is an online facility available to our Top-Up students with unlimited access to course materials, assignments and other resources from University of West London. 

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi access is available throughout LSST. Ask a member of staff for the password at your campus. 

Student Café

Each campus has its own Student Café - an ideal place for networking, knowledge sharing with fellow students or if you just want to relax, have a quick snack, or just watch TV.

How to enrol

LSST welcomes applications from all students, regardless of their previous educational qualifications. Places fill up very quickly, so we advise you to apply as early as possible. But we do our best to offer a place to everyone who demonstrates serious commitment and the potential to benefit from training with us.

Register your interest and you will automatically be invited to attend one of our open days, which are run several times each week before the start of semesters at each of the campuses.

Alongside detailed information about each course, staff will help you to select the best option for you. You can also talk to some of our students to find out what studying at LSST is like in practice.

Open days

LSST hosts open days several times each year. Anyone registering an interest in applying will be invited to attend an Open Day session convenient for them.

During the Open Day, prospective students are given detailed information about the courses and then asked to answer some questions to enable our staff to select the entry level suitable for that individual.
