Student Story

Derrick Bennett – BTEC National Diploma in Media

Derrick was selected to take part in a BBC mentoring scheme – a joint initiative between Ealing Institute of Media and the BBC, to give media students a coveted insight into the industry by work shadowing and following work placements.

'The facilities and teaching at EIM are first class. There is everything we need in terms of equipment; mixing studios, dark rooms, computers, TV studio – all state-of-the-art and exactly what the industry is using today. This basically means that we can fit straight into a real life working environment and provide employers with the skills they need as soon as we graduate. I’d like to thank my tutors and mentor for giving me the opportunity to develop my skills and give me a head start. I would definitely recommend the EIM to anyone seriously considering a job in the media and film industry.'
