Student Life

As a short course student you’ll meet people from the UK and around the world who are interested in the same things as you.

So why not join them and become part of this creative community?

You will use the same resources as our degree-course students, with access to the library for reference and research, our college art shop and our print bureau.

During the summer you can stay on campus in our halls of residence, to get the full student experience. This cost-effective accommodation is always popular with visitors from home and abroad, providing you with a single en-suite room right in the heart of the city centre.

It was in the 1920s that a former evening course student called Joseph Else became the principal of what was then called the Nottingham School of Design. He saw the school through the Depression and advanced his own personal mantra of ‘art for all’.

Art and design at Nottingham Trent University has gone through various guises, but the national and international reputation has always been retained. And in the last ten years things haven’t slowed down:

  • £130 million pounds has been invested in the NTU environment since 2004
  • NTU is now one of the UK’s biggest universities with over 25,000 students

NTU is the third largest university in the UK for the number of students studying art and design.
