The vast majority of learners use this qualification as a stepping stone to degree courses.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma (QCF) - 120 credits - Business or ICT - for those wanting to develop grounding in business and computing. It is a 90 credit programme made up of 9 units equivalent to one A level. This Diploma is assignment based so any assignments submitted count towards your final overall grade.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma (QCF) - 60 credits - Business or ICT - for those wanting to understand the basics of business and computing. It is a 60 credit programme made up of 6 units. The majority of students use this to supplement their sixth form A level studies and as a supplementary subject specific alternative to their A level's. This Diploma is assignment based so any assignments submitted count towards your final overall grade.
BTEC Level 3 Certificate (QCF) - 30 credits - Business - for more mature learners who wish to follow a vocational programme of study as part of their continued professional development CPD or who want to move to a different area of employment. It is a 30 credit programme made up of 3 units.
The College considers applications from school-leavers or those still at school/sixth form with the commitment and maturity required to complete a BTEC Level 3 programme and who wish to gain a fast track and secure route into university or, those who want to aim for the next stage in course progression namely HNC Level 4 or HND Level 5.

David Hall was unable to speed up his learning at School. They would not allow it. They said he had to stay there for two years because the 180 credit Diploma is a two year course. So he enrolled with us and completed the Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in three months!! Truly an exceptional talent that was not recognised by his school. He completed with DDD in June 2013 before all his mates finished their first year! He worked really hard from March to June giving up weekends and evenings while his friends were out enjoying themselves. He has now stolen a march on them and is off to Oxford Brookes university doing an undergraudate degree. Well done David!
Gerson enrolled at 17 years of age on the then BTEC National Diploma in Computing (Now Edexcel BTEC Level 3 in Business). He completed in 2003 and later enrolled at Essex University to persue a degree in Computing. He now has a Masters in IT and doing very well for himself.
His brother Edson studied BTEC Level 3 in Business and enrolled at West Hertfordshire University where he is studying the last year of his course.

I missed out on university leaving school at 16 years of age and going to work. I managed to buy a BMW when all my mates were driving their dad's car.
I started work at a bank but my line manager was very encouraging telling me I need to go back to college, get a degree and return. for this reason, I specifically enrolled with the College of Central London to complete the Level 3 Extended Diploma in one year. I managed to complete the programme through a lot of my own hard work and gudiance from the tutor. It was tough but my tutor told me some of my work was of a very high quality.
I'm now in Nottingham University so I achieved what I set out to do.
