Studying at CM

CM is situated in the heart of one of London's most culturally diverse, artistically creative and thriving areas. Brick Lane and Shoreditch is an area largely populated by up and coming artists and a new wave of design & media studios and commercial art galleries.

The area is one of the best places to go out in London, simply because there are so many different bars, pubs and clubs dotted all over this area and many of these stay open very late. Brick Lane in east London has become famous as one of the curry centers of the city.

The Lane and surrounding streets get really busy on weekends and the nightlife is diverse and caters for every taste and style.

As well as being a year round attraction for visitors and locals alike, Brick Lane also holds some major annual festivals to showcase the local culture and food it is so well known for. For example, The Brick Lane Festival is held on the second Sunday in September and attracts over 50,000 people to enjoy music, dance, films, fashion shows, street entertainers and the food stalls provided by the area's restaurants.

The Baishakhi Mela is another big festival hosted in the local area and is a celebration of Bengali New Year, said to be the largest Bengali celebration outside of Bangladesh. The nearby Victoria park offers a host of music events, festivals and live performances throughout the year, including Lovebox and Underage. CM is involved in programming a lot of the live music at events such as these.
