Student Story

Keketso Mabengeza
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma for ICT Practitioners

Keketso, 22, from Haringey is studying the two-year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma for ICT Practitioners, which teaches skills to move directly into employment or on to an HND or degree programme. He says: “I previously studied Art & Design at City of Westminster College, and found I enjoyed the IT side – particularly programming. I also really liked the college so decided to come back and experience the facilities at the new Paddington Green Campus.” Keketso is studying while working in a care home, which can be a tough balancing act, but he’s still found time to be both a Student Ambassador and a Students’ Council member. He says: “In my schooldays I stayed under the radar, but then I decided I needed to become more social. It means I’m getting so much more out of being here. My advice to anyone wondering what to do next is simple: study now!”
