You might recognise Tara Rushton as the star of Kate Modern, the internet drama that was pulling in up to 2.5 million online viewers a week. Not content with this success, Tara signed up for advanced acting courses at City Lit as a way to hone her skills further.
"I was looking to further educate myself within the field of dramatic arts, and found out about City Lit online, as well as from friends."
Tara chose an introductory course in the highly regarded Stanislavski acting technique.
"The teachers are great, the facilities are great and I met some amazing people. I also loved the non-pretentious atmosphere of my class – it made me feel like I was in a safe place and free to be myself and as creative as I wanted.
So what’s next? I’m off to LA to meet with agents and to get a feel for the city. I am also working on producing my own show for the social network Bebo at the moment… so it’s lots of planning, writing, and re-writing.
I have already enrolled in two more classes at City Lit – I really think continuing to learn is so important and I’m sure that I’ll continue to enroll in more classes next year too."
