On the face of it, apprenticeships seem like the ideal way of learning – you’re there in the workplace, learning practical skills, meeting people who are doing what you dream of and best of all, getting paid to do it. They do involve a lot of work though, you’re keeping your training quite niche, and it takes longer to move up the academic levels than when you’re studying in the classroom. So is an apprenticeship worth it? Are they really all they’re made out to be? And are they as cost effective as they seem?

In this video, Oscar and I weigh up the pros and cons of apprenticeships in order to give you an idea of whether it’s the right path for you…

Now you’ve got a rough idea of the good and bad points of apprenticeships, how about having a look for one? Or, if you need more inspiration, check out which companies offer them.
