Staff training is a requirement of your food safety management system and the new national food hygiene rating scheme.
This course is designed for anyone who works in hospitality and catering who handles and serves food for human consumption. This includes working in any catering establishment including hotels, restaurants, cafes, fast food outlets, takeaways, pubs and bars, mobile food vans and stalls, catering in colleges, schools, hospitals, and prisons.
This 1 Day Course teaches an understanding of the terminology used in Food Safety, the associated legislation, the Food Safety Hazards and how to prevent food contamination, keeping food safe. Included are safe practices and the requirements of food handlers, cleaning, the equipment and the premises in which food is sold.
You and your staff will be introduced and provided with an understanding of the Food Safety Controls and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points HACCP, a food safety management system, which is required by all food establishments in compliance with The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006, to operate a safe food business.
This qualification is accredited and certificated by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and is also accredited by OFqual on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF). This course concludes with a 1 hour, 30 multiple choice questions exam.
It is a legal requirement to ensure that food, which is displayed, served or sold, is safe and is fit for human consumption. This is achieved by monitoring all food, from raw products through to being sold to the customer for consumption and ensuring that it does not become contaminated in the process and pose a risk to the health of your customers.
The Level 2 Awards in Food Safety are designed to train all personnel who handle, store, prepare, cook and sell food to nationally recognised occupational standards, to understand and be able to apply the learning in the workplace to ensure that food is safe.
