Course Description
This course was designed to enable creative individuals to plan, prepare and to establish their own practice. It introduces issues of business planning, organisation and finance control, and relates this to contemporary practice, through case studies. You will be encouraged to relate projects to your own practice in art and design. You will receive valuable guidance in: Developing a business plan for a creative business, including financial planning and professional support; External support for small businesses, including funding and sponsorship; Presenting and selling your work, undertaking commissions, issues of copyright; Marketing your business, promoting and advertising and Selecting and acquiring premises, issues of location, rental agreements and insurance.
