Course Description
This intensive programme will enable you to experience a range of art and design activities to help you assess your strengths, confirm your aspirations and lead to a more specialist area of interest. You'll acquire a variety of skills and experiences in preparation for making informed choices about your next step into either Higher Education or work. These skills will encourage you in digital development and traditional experimentation. You will experience a combination of practical studio projects, seminars, lectures, workshops and tutorials. Throughout the course, practicing artists, designers and broadcasters will introduce you to new ideas in art, design and communication practice. These lectures and seminars will influence your projects and visual and written work, and help you clarify your aspirations. Visits to museums and galleries in London will contextualise your work and ideas, and you will also have the opportunity of a foreign study trip. Throughout the programme you'll get advice and guidance about opportunities to progress into specialist areas, and we'll help direct you to the degree programme or employment that suits you. We'll also give you practical help to prepare for interviews and present your portfolio. Most students go on to Higher Education and many to design and broadcasting programmes at Ravensbourne. If you decide to go directly into work, we'll help you to find opportunities.

Entry Requirements
We do everything we can to help students without traditional qualifications to gain access to higher education and reach their study goals. But we must be satisfied that you will be able to cope with our demanding programmes. This means we are rigorous about the standards of evidence, including a portfolio and written work, we need you to provide before we will make you an offer. Examples of qualifications we accept include: 1 A-level or Advanced GNVQ plus 5 GCSEs (grade C or above) including English. International students must have studied to a comparable level and have good written and spoken English. The minimum standard to aim for is: IELTS score of 6 points, or TOEFL score of 550 points, or CAE at grade B; a CPE at grade C.
